Highlights included a keynote from Jacinta Elston speaking about Indigenous Health; Iona Novak and her insightful presentation on changing landscape of evidence for occupational therapy in rehabilitation; and the updates on the National Hospital Reforms and the future of healthcare in Australia from Janet Anderson.

This conference drew together over 220 delegates from various sectors such as hospitals, medical rehabilitation units, government sectors, private practice, schools, universities & other allied health service providers from all around Australia. The conference also attracted exhibitors displaying the latest products & services for occupational therapists.

The program included over 60 presentations & workshops, a Hypothetical Panel as well as poster presentations. Prizes were awarded for best paper / workshop, best alignment with Conference theme Initiate Participate & Achieve & best poster. The conference provided opportunities to learn about intervention strategies and service provision, address continuing professional development needs, strengthen professional connections and enable access to a large number of exhibitors and sponsors relevant to occupational therapy practice.

The OT AUSTRALIA NSW–ACT Conference Organising Committee and the OT AUSTRALIA NSW–ACT Conference Scientific Program Committee were delighted to host this event in beautiful Darling Harbour, Sydney and would like to thank you again for your support and contribution to the Inaugural Conference for OT AUSTRALIA NSW–ACT 2009.
